We arrived to drizzle, wind and cold, and decided that as it was getting dark this would be a fantastic time to see the fox glacier!!  It was!  It dosn't really matter what the weathers like - an oversized piece of ice slowly carving out the landscape as you stand there twiddling your thumbs is awesome wind, rain or snow!  The fading light was becoming a bit of a problem though so we figured we should bid our farewells to the fox glacier for the moment!

Me being me decided that the fox glacier would definatly be the best place to throw myself out of a plane and plummet to my doom so i had booked myself in for an hour or so of adrenaline filled fun the following day!  Kathryn decided she was going to take advantage of a lack of cleeners at the hostel and work for her nights accomodation!  First though we thought we had better take a look at Mount Cook (NZs biggest mountain) so we marched round a lake took a pretty impressive picture and marched back just in time for Kathryn to start work!

Well then it was time for me to go sky diving, so off I went and got dressed up in a paticulalry flattering grey jump suit and double checked that my shoes would not fall off!  We (I was going with another bloke) then met the people we would be attached to as we plumeted towards earth - sadly neither were rich or/and hansom (there goes my brilliant plan for a husband)!  We were shown what to do, had a quick practice hanging outside the plane whilst we wern't 12 000 ft up and then jumped in and off we went!  It was worth it just for the scenic flight as we took in mount cook and the fox glacier from above climbing up to that all important 12 000 feet that would give us 45 seconds of free fall!  Soon enough the door was opened, somehow I managed to swing my feet out through the door (these things are not designed for people with long legs!) and I hung there posing (Steph would have been proud!)  Then I recieved the all important tap on the head crossed my arms and felt gravity kick in as we rolled out of the door and then saw the plane far above us!  Another tap on the head and it was arms out, lock legs and make a banana shape!  Then all that was left was to have a good look around whilst we plumeted to earth oh and keep my mouth shut (goodness only knows what I swallowed!)  45 seconds later all was quiet as the parachute went out and we plumeted at a slightly more sedate pace!  Rather foolishly my parachute man gave me the controlls and I had a go at turning left and right stopping and spinning in circles that made me giggle like a school girl!  All too soon it was time to land so legs out and we slid along the grass on our bums - so graceful!!

So that was fairly amusing although to be honest my heart rate has risen higher riding Money so i'm not sure what all that adrenalin rush stuff is about!  Newho ticked falling out of a plane off the to do list, whats next?......
