Kathryns, mums, friends, daughter (aunts, brothers, puppy) - Lucy, just so happens to go to uni in the Scottish town of Dunedin so lucky things had two visitors for a few days - just so kind and it was great to be back in a uni environement again without having to do the assignments!!

Lovely Lucy gave us a chaufer driven tour of Dunedin, including a walk along the beach and a drive along the stunning peninsula!  We were then left to our own devices and did lots more street pounding - mostly in the wrong direction!  First off we wanted to go to Baldwin street, the steepest street in the world, so off we marched in completely the wrong direction, we realised once we had reached the outskirts of town that we were probably going the wrong way as everything was getting much flatter, this was confirmed at a garrage and we stomped back in the other direction where it was definatly much hillier...still couldn't find the damn street though and everyone I asked didn't know what i was on about, finally we found two ladies that did who told us it was the opposite way in the other direction to the other opposite way (see why we get lost so much now), Kathryn and I decided we must have walked the equivalent of the damn street and we'd come back on the bus the next day and wondered back through the botanical gardens that were gorgeous and even had a band playing on the band stand!  We then went to the cadburrys factory which wasn't really running that day so we gave up on the idea of doing anything productive and went back to the house!

The next day was a little more successful, an early start to the cadbury factory for a tour (a ton of melted chocolate pouring before your eyes is definatly worth getting up in the cold for), although it was the most expensive free chocolate i've ever been given in my life!!  We never did make it to the damn street though (we'd drive to it tommorow) mostly because we spent the rest of the day trying to find a car hire place without a map...on a third attempt after walking up many many steep hills we did make it only to find that it would be easier to sort it out from the phone box at the bottom of the hill anyway!  Anyway hire car sorted we were satisfied with our days work and were looking forward to the extra freedom a car would give us......
