We were going to die of the heat....if that didn't take us then the terrible hummidity was going to make my hair explode to such an extent that i wouldn't be able to breathe and would thus suffocate and die........not one person warned us that we might drown. So at stupid o'clock, when, bleary eyed, we stumbled onto Aussie territory we thought we had got on the wrong plane!!
We did manage to make it to our hostel without a boat which was a relief as was the large number of free, all you can eat pancakes that soon appeared before us! The rest of the day was spent: fainting over the prices of tours to Kakadu and litchfield national parks, realising how far out of town we were when we swam the million miles there, finding an umbrella, marvelling at all the Aussies that walked in the rain with no coats and were still dry, dripped around a super market where we bought FRUIT (!!) and cooking pasta and pesto - oooo the novelty!!
The next day we tried to find cheeper ways of getting to Kakadu and Litchfield national parks (unsuccessfully), tried to find other things to do in Darwin (again unsuccesfully), tried to find a WWOOFing (Willing Workers On Organic Farms - more about that later) office (again unnsuccesfully), discovered the large number of English programs they have in Aus mostly murder mysteries (sensible people)!
Third day...went cycling.....got soaked....went home! Fourth day......ran away!!
