Hey peeps
Katie had kindly organised for all us girlies to go to the Royal Randwick Races on Boxing Day.
Randwick Races is kind of like Ascot, everyone gets dressed up in pretty dresses and fascinators or hats and spends the whole day sipping on champagne and posing. The sun was out in force on Boxing day so we tried to stay under cover as much as we could. Drinking in the sun isn't a good idea.. neither is it attractive to have huge sweat patches on such pretty dresses.
The races were going all day and the girls were having fun placing bets and winning small fortunes.. I actually completely forgot to put a bet on!! I was so busy chatting to everyone, the day just seemed to fly by. I bumped into Ross from Malia, coming down the escalator at one point! I also bumped into him in a bar when I went to Sydney last time.. he just seems to keep popping up all over the place!
Anyway, we played the rules.. drank champagne all day, did a bit of posing and lost some money on bets. Steff then headed out with Toni Little Feet and I stayed at the races for a bit longer with Katie and her mates.
We bumped into some guys that Katie met a few times whilst coming down the coast; Eddie, Rob & Brian, so ended up spending the rest of the day at the races chatting to them and then meeting up with them later on in the evening back in Coogee. We spent all night in the Coogee Beach Hotel (CBH) and then at approximately 4am Katie decided she wanted to go for a walk along the beach (again). There was some guy down there flame throwing and a huge crowd so we sat and watched them for a bit and then ended up rolling around in the sand and getting thrown in the sea!! By the time I got home, I was caked from head to toe in sand and my jeans were drenched from the sea. Needless to say we kind of regretted our actions when we woke up in the morning to sand everywhere.. all over the apartment and all in Katie's bed!!! Took a while to clean it up but it was worth it.. it's not every Boxing Day night I will be rolling around on Coogee Beach at stupid o'clock in the morning with Katie!! haha!!!
So that was Boxing Day... slightly different to the normal chain of events! All in all a good day though.
Much love
