Merry Christmas every one!!

Christmas morning I actually woke up a little upset.. obviously I knew that this day was going to come and I knew that I was going to be without my friends and family but still, it didn't make it any easier when I woke up without my family :-(

Anyway, we all got up and got ready, packed up the Christmas lunch and started on the Christmas breakfast.. which consisted of mainly goon and gin. We then headed down to Coogee beach to meet up with some more of Katie's mates. The sun was out but it was very windy next to the sea... we refused to wrap up though! We spent all morning through to the early afternoon on Coogee Beach and then headed over to Bondi Beach at about 3pm ish.

We caught the bus to Bondi, briefly met up with David to say Merry Christmas and then headed towards the beach in search of Toni little feet and the irish lads we knew from Cairns. The beach and the grassed area that surrounds it was a sea of red santa hats and santa outfits... which made is very easy to find Dave when his directions were.. "I'm on the grass area. Phil
Phil
. you cant miss me, I've got a santa hat on". We did find him in the end though and sat chatting to him and Gerbil for a bit until Toni little feet walked over. It was so nice to see Toni again and catch up with her.. we hadn't seen her since the end of July back in Cairns so we all had loads to catch up on.

Next thing we know Vicky and Jen turn up! It was a complete surprise and was really good to see them.. Christmas day actually turned out to be a Global Palace reunion (the hostel I lived in up in Cairns for 4 months!!). It was freezing on Bondi Beach though as you can see from the pics! Turned out it was actually the coldest Christmas day they have had in years! How annoying.

Stef was desperate to find GMTV so she could wave to her mum (she even went as far as to decorate an England flag so that they would spot her and get her on the tv!!) All the film crews were down on the beach so she headed over.. it turned out a Korean guy had drowned in the sea so the place was swarming with news reporters. Stef and Toni came back a bit deflated after watching him being wrapped up in foil and turning blue. Turns out GMTV wasn't even on Bondi this year, they went to Perth!! So not only was it the coldest Christmas day in history.. GMTV also decided not to bother coming over!

Anyway, by about 7pm we all realised we were starving and had nothing to eat.. the only place open was McDonalds... so for Christmas dinner we had good old Maccy D's!! It was literally the only place open so we didn't really have much choice! Never in my life did I think I would be eating a quarter pounder with cheese instead of turkey and roast potato's!! McDonalds could of thought ahead and at least have a turkey burger promotion or something going! Not even a hint of a mince pie!

So we sat on the beach until about 8pm, eating McDonalds and freezing. We headed back to Coogee, had hot showers and relaxed for the rest of the evening.. there wasn't really much else to do as no pubs were open and no present to unwrap!!

So that was Christmas day, it was a lovely day and it was great to see everyone again but it really didn't feel like Christmas. I don't want to be away again for next Christmas.. so at least you kids know I should be back for then!

Anyway, hope you all had lovely Christmas days and got loads of presents.

Merry Christmas everyone.. love you all loads xxxxxxxxxx
