Merry Christmas Eve to you all!!!

Well we all landed in Sydney fine.  Stef was on a different flight to me and David so we made a pact that when we met on the other side, we would all run towards each other screeching and hugging like we haven't seen each other in years!  It was amusing.. people starred.

Anyway a short taxi ride and we arrived at Katie's at around 10pm.  David hadn't booked anywhere to stay so he headed off into the city in search of accommodation.  Us girlies had a bite to eat and a good catch up and then headed for bed.  The three of us back together again in one double bed.. just like old times.  Needless to say, I got the short straw and ended up in the middle.. although I got the better nights sleep in the end.

Christmas Eve Katie had to work so she headed off into the city and Stef and I had a mooch around Coogee for the day.  Coogee is relatively small coastal town with a coved beach.  It's very simular to Spain in the respect that's its lively with a handful of convenience stores.

Stef and I headed into Woolworths to get some food for Christmas day. Stef, Katie, Katie, Sorcha & Sharon

. it was mobbed.  You couldn't actually get to the fridge/freezers due to a million and one people queuing up to pay!  I've never seen anything like it in my life.. worse than Tesco's at Christmas!!!

The bottle shop was worse though, they ran out of practically everything!!  The staff were trying to load bottles onto the shelves but failing miserably as tourists started attacking the full boxes.  It's actually illegal in Australia to sell alcohol on Christmas day so all bottle shops and pubs are shut (you cant buy alcohol anywhere other than this.. not in petrol stations nor supermarkets.. very inconvenient).

Anyway, after loading ourselves up with alcohol and munchies we relaxed for a bit before putting our party dresses on and heading over to the Coogee Beach Hotel (CBH) to meet with all of Katie's mates and see in Christmas with a few drinks!!

As soon as the clock struck 12 everyone in the beer garden started singing Christmas songs and hugging people!  We managed to get stuck talking to this random weirdo who was out by himself and wanted to spend all his time with us.. thankfully Sorcha managed to palm him off on another group of girls close to us!

Katie and I took a stroll along the beach on the way home.. it meant we got sand all over the apartment but hey.. it's not like every Christmas morning I get to walk along the beach!!!

Much love
