I met a guy called Pete who is the bar manager in the Woolshed where i trialled for a bar job, we bumped into him one night whilst at a pool party on the roof of a hostel and he offered us free accommodation for 2 weeks on the condition that we cleaned it! Basically, he lives with 2 other guys, one is his brother who is about to go off to Thailand with his girlfriend and the other is the son of the guy who owns the bar. They have to give back the apartment at the end of May as the owners are coming back and the place is in need of a good old clean... being boys they don't want to (more to the point.. don't know HOW to clean! haha) so they have offered us free shelter if we clean. We went for a quick look around and decided to do it, we don't have jobs and need to save the money. So we moved in.
The place was crawling! I'm surprised the kitchen didn't get up and walk out!!
Anyway, since we're not paying rent for the next couple of weeks, we decided to book ourselves onto a little tour!
We set off at 7.30am and headed north to a place called Mossman Gorge, it was breathtaking
We then headed to Daintree Animal Zoo, we all got to see killer chickens! and stroke a wallaby, he was well cute! We also saw a whole load of snakes including a mini carpet python.. ahh! Then we met grumpy the croc, he was hiding in his swamp and the guide lady poked him with a stick and he jumped right out and scared us all to death! We all screamed like girls and tried running away! hahaha! (I've got a vid of it but cant seem to post it for some reason.. will try again in another cafe.) We then had a bite to eat, a cup of tea and then headed to the look out to see out over Cairns.
After the lookout we headed over to Cape Tribulation, The Daintree Cape Tribulation coast is where the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree rain forest meet, the only place on earth where two World Heritage areas exist side by side (FACT!). It was beautiful, again as it was overcast and also jellyfish season, we didn't get to swim in the sea, instead we wrote in the sand and messed about!!!
After lunch we went for a walk through the rain forest. We learned a lot about the trees and the types of animals and birds that inhabit the rain forest and then we were 'lucky' enough to meet one of the animals.... a massive golden orb spider. Katie and I were in front of the tour (getting bored of all the tree talk) and just as we were talking we both spotted something glistening in the sun... we looked up at the same time and saw it there. We then turned round on our heals and went running back to everyone screaming and practically crying! Check the photo for evidence!! YUK! We wanted to walk the whole way back round rather than past it but the tour lady stood between us and the spider and so we legged it!! I hope i never have to see one of those again, i cant describe how gross it was.
Anyway, after that we headed off to an ice cream factory where we sat and relaxed for a while and tried some ice cream made out of some really weird fruits that i have never heard of. Then we headed off to Daintree River to go on a cruise down the river and see all the crocs that live there. We managed to see a baby croc that was a year old, apparently that's quite rare as the mothers only look after them for a month and then they are on their own. The don't usually survive but this little one did. Then we met Scarface who seemed massive until we met Fat Albert!
After the cruise we headed back to the lookout to see the view at night and then drove home via Port Douglas. Port Douglas has a 4 mile beach and surrounds the world heritage rain forest. It's a shame we didn't actually get to stop and have a look around but we hope to hire a car for a day and head over there to check it all out.
Coral the tour guide, then drove us all home at 3 million miles per hour... and i thought my driving was horrendous! hahaha! She scared the life out of us. Katie and Stef were holding on for dear life!!
All in all we had a wicked day and really enjoyed ourselves... from now on in i refuse to EVER go in the bush/rain forest again!! I don't ever want to see a spider that big thats not behind a glass door again!!! hahaha!!
I also got the bar job you'll be pleased to know! It will hopefully work out quite well. I want a proper job really but at least this way i can work shifts, therefore i wont miss nights out and will also be able to work on my tan in the day time! woo hoo! Best of both worlds! I should start some time this week hopefully... fingers crossed!!!
Update again soon, love you all

The place was crawling! I'm surprised the kitchen didn't get up and walk out!!
Cape Tribulation
! It was gross. I threw a major strop (as i usually do!!) and then decided to get on with it and get the place clean. So we missioned down to Crazy Clarkes and got a load of cheap cleaning products and a load of gloves and scrubbed the place. Stef took on the bathroom (bless her, i couldn't of done it!) and Katie and I tackled the kitchen. It took us 3 hours to get those two rooms reasonably tidy. We then scrubbed and disinfected the floor and then relaxed and grabbed a Dominoes pizza to congratulate ourselves on the hard work!!!! We have a double bed in one room and a single bed in another room which is kind of like a conservatory but the blinds don't shut properly and we didn't want to get eaten alive so we decided to all share a double bed! It's a bit of a squeeze but a giggle! We take it in turns for one to be in the middle laying the other way. It was my turn again last night.. i didn't get much sleep. Stef & Katie's feet hum! hahaha!!! Since sleeping in the double bed, Stef and I have been bitten to shreds, the bites are really red and really sore... check the pics! We look like we have some kind of disease! hahahaha!!!Anyway, since we're not paying rent for the next couple of weeks, we decided to book ourselves onto a little tour!

Daintree Lookout
. It was set in a rain forest, with a lake flowing through with massive rocks in the middle. As you can see i have taken loads of pics! You can swim in the water but it was overcast when we went and was raining on and off so we decided against swimming. We then headed to Daintree Animal Zoo, we all got to see killer chickens! and stroke a wallaby, he was well cute! We also saw a whole load of snakes including a mini carpet python.. ahh! Mossman Gorge
! He was massive and pretty scary. Thankfully he was happy enough chilling on the bank rather than searching for tourists to eat! hahaha! After the cruise we headed back to the lookout to see the view at night and then drove home via Port Douglas.
