Happy Birthday Mum!!!!
We arrived at Oaxaca a little late, so went straight to a hostel. It is more expensive here, so we are back to sharing dorms, lets hope we don't have any snorers!
Then it was to the Internet to call Mum and say Happy Birthday and of course catch up with the rest of the family who were there as there was free cake on offer - and Mums special meringues, with cream, that Maria was filling her face with as I spoke to Mum!!!
We then went to get our bus tickets and stumbled across a great market with amazing fruit and vegetables. I had a massive mango for 50p, all chopped up and ready to eat, better than Tesco! We had a good look around and then walked into the centre to see the sights. My favourite place was Santa Domnigo church, it was amazing inside, so much gold everywhere and amazing carvings. We tried to find the Botanical Gardens as I read they were free, but when we got there they wanted 10$ US each - to see a load of cacti, no way!
Oaxaca is a really pretty and peaceful town in the mountains and I would recommend a stop off here if you get a chance.

What an awful episode although I suppose the positive side is youve got through 5 months without anythng serious happening to you both health wise which is the main thing. Hope it gets better from now xx
