I must tell you about the ruins we went to see in Palenque, we decided to carry on with our plans and not let the b******ds affect our journey into Mexico.

We are so glad we did as the Palenque ruins were beautiful, peaceful and really interesting. We did not see any wildlife at these ruins, although they did offer jungle tours, but it was still a great experience.
The Palenque runis are also Maya and date back to the same period as those we saw at Tikal. The ruins here though are much more compact and also much more open, which is why I think we didn`t see as much wildlife. They are different to the ruins at Tikal, but equally as stunning and worth the visit.

My favourite part was the royal baths, which are a series of clear water pools at the bottom of some waterfalls, but you are not allowed to bath in them anymore - shame!
