Things are a lot different at this school than they were in Cuzco, I guess I should stop comparing, but we have one to one lessons in this school and we both thought it would be more intense, but it is the opposite.
My teacher has spent 2 days teaching me present tense, which I thought I knew pretty well. She keeps telling me I am doing really well, but there is no surprise really as I have had to speak it for the last 4 months. I did politely tell her that it would be better for me to work on the things I didn`t know!!!

I do have a lot of fun with my teacher though, I tell her all about the UK and my wonderful family and friends and she tells me all about her country and family, so I am speaking a lot, I just don`t feel like I am progressing as much as I did in Cuzco - but I have learnt the difference between por y para - my God that is confusing!

We have a great coffee shop around the corner from the school where the best latte in town is less than a pound, I`m in heaven!!!!

We are off dancing tonight (vamos a bailar salsa) that is if Epi is up to it, he has had diarrohea once and has been in bed all afternoon, I had it for seven days and travelled through 3 countries - men hey!

We bought a book on Mexico the other day and we are now both getting really excited about it, terrible really as we have not left Guatemala yet, but I have been wanting to visit Mexico for years now and I can`t believe I am so close.

I will let you know how the bailando goes, or not !

Mum
Lake Atitlan sounded lovely and peaceful, just how a Sunday should be. Do not be too hard on Epi. The male species are not geared to put up with illness, it destroys their male ego. Hope school was a bit more challenging to-day. have you gone back to the future yet or are you still on the present? Speak soon, Love Mum. xx

por y para
Don't leave us all in suspense ... what is the difference between por y para???

Would you ladies please stop dissin' blokes in general and Epi in particular. You managed 7 days and 3 countries (too much - way too much information though!)only through the constant care and support of this man and the moment he needs some well earned R&R, you're on his case. Give the man a break woman!
