The bus journey to Nicaragua was really good, the bus was comfortable and the only downside was that we had to sit separately as the bus was full. But we were soon in Managua and heading for our hotel that we had found in our new Footprints guide.
The hotel was great, we had a private bathroom and there was even a pool all for $ US 20. Managua did not feel like a capital city at all, in fact it didn't even feel like a city really. There was only small, shack type buildings and our hotel was more like something you would find on a beach than in a capital city.
We went out for something to eat and got a pretty early night as we had to be up at 3.30am the next morning to get the bus to El Salvador.
I can recommend Tica bus, they have been very good and professional so far.
