Our flight from Columbia to San jose, Costa Rica was very comfortable and easy. We were met at the airport by the pick up from our hostel and within 30 minutes we were in our hostel - why isnt all travelling this easy???? I think with all the flying back and fourth from Madrid to the UK I had taken for granted just how lucky we are to have flights to everywhere at our door step, for such good prices. It sure beats being on a bus for 24 hours.

The hostel we are staying in is great and the owner is so helpful. We only have 24 hours here and we need to find out how we get around Costa Rica and try and see San Jose at the same time. We wasted no time and got straight to it. The owner leant us his Costa Rica book and we made our plans for our 10 days here.

Then we headed out to see San Jose and to eat The Costa Rica flag

. To our surprise, San Jose is so American. There are fast food places everywhere and all the familiar names you would expect to see in the states - Wendy´s, KFC and Taco Bell, my favourite! But they are not cheap. Even fast food here is expensive, so we went to a cheap cafe instead.

The next day we got up early to get our bus tickets sorted and see  more of the city. There is a big festival of cows here at the moment. 150 artists are each given a cow and asked to paint it in whatever form they like. some of them are great, we took pictures of quite a few cows, our favourites being the pole dancer, the tango cows and disco cow!!!

Then later that day we got the bus to the Carribean coast. It was a beautiful day, perfect for travelling to the beach!
