We got the bus to Ica, two hours from Nasca and then immediatley took a taxi out to Huacachina, which is an oasis in the middle of the biggest sand dunes I have ever seen in my life.

The place was great and the hostel was really nice too, with a swimming pool and really nice staff. We were told that there was a sand buggy and sand boarding tour leaving at 4.30pm, so we decided to go for it!

What an experience. We were out on the dunes for nearly 3 hours and got to see the sun go down over the dester as well which was great. The driver of the dans bugy was crazy, but made for an excellent and exciting ride!!! It was like a roller coaster ride, but you weren´t sure if you were gonna fall out or not at times!!!!

The sand boarding was difficult. I have never done anything like this before, but Epi has snowboarded and surfed before, so at least he had some idea. I decided it was quicker to dive head first on to the board -  and it was much more fun too. As we got to the bigger slopes everyone decided to join me and soon we were all whizzing down the slopes, such a laugh. But be warned people do get hurt, and on our last BIG slope there was a guy before us that decided to go head fisrt down the biggest part and ended up in a pile at the bottom. They did eventually move him, so I think he was ok!!!!

We were covered in sand, it got everywhere!!! But we had such a good time. Jumped in the pool to try and cool off and get some of the sand off before showering and heading out for a meal. Great day!!!!
