We left Santiago on the night bus, having spent the whole day in the sun.
I am actually very sad to leave Chile, I have loved it here and really hope to come back some day and spend more time. But this is hopefully not our last time in Chile on this trip. We plan to explore the dessert a little when we are further north in Bolivia and Peru.
The bus to Argentina was really exhausting. We were at the border for nearly 2 hours whilst they searched peoples bags and cleared things off the bus. The funny thing was that there was only 2 customs people and whilst they were checking other people bags, the people that had been made to take their things off the bus were sneaking them back on. Well I say sneaking, actually they were doing it as bold as day and they all got away with it too! I have no idea what they were trying to keep away from the customs officials, but they had no problems doing it!
We have arrived in Mendoza now and have to catch a local bus to Puente De Inca, it is not on the map, so I have had to show it as Mendoza! It is a small place that we are going to, but I believe it is the highest point in Argentina. Will tell you more about it when we get there.
Ok, it is a good few hours since I wrote all that, but we are still at Mendoza waiting for a bus. Are the buses that unreliable I hear you say, well no is the answer to that question. We are still here because we hadnīt realised that Argentina is one hour ahead of Chile, or at least Mendoza is one hour ahead of Santiago. So whilst we were sat here killing time writing our blogs our bus was loading up and going without us!!!!
We have no got tickets for the next bus out of here, so we will have been here literally all day. Can think of nicer places to spend a day, especially after you havent slept all night and have not washed - nice !!!
Lets hope we get there this time!
