We arrived in Santiago by early afternoon and had already booked a hostel, LU Azul, so headed there to drop off our bags.
That afternoon we headed out to Parque Metropolitana, to see the La Virgen (the large statue of the Virgin Mary) up close. We got the Funicular railway up there - my God it was steep. I am not great with heights and that really was not nice. We had also got a ticket for the cable car ride once we were at the top, so an afternoon of terror for me, but great views of Santiago and the surrounding Andes.
We wondered around the park for a while, it was another beautiful day and we had discovered that there was a pool right at the top of the mountain, so we decided that was our plan for day 2 in Santiago.
We made our way back down the Funicular railway and walked through Bellavista and onto Plaza Brasil, where our hostel was for a drink.
We did have a beautiful and relaxing day by the pool the next day before our overnight journey back to Argentina.

Happy New year to you both.
The photo of you both in Valpariaso is lovely you both look so well and sunkissed, I am green with envy as it is bloody freezing here. Well I am back to work now and boy was it a shock after 3 weeks off. The house is coming on well we are now in our bedroom and it is lovely you will both love it.
Valpariaso looks lovely and the beach looked great.

UGGHH Couldn't have done that cable car
I don't think you looked terrified enough. You should have been huddled on the floor in a quivering heap - I would have been!
