Last night we didn't sleep very well so we were both awake at 6am.  We decided to go for a walk around the town to find breakfast.
All the western type eateries were either closed or only serving locals (because everyone was getting ready for school).  As a result, we found it difficult to find a spot but eventually did at 7.20am.  We then guzzled our food down because we had to be back at the hotel for a tour pick-up.
At 8.10am the bus picked us up for a tour to My Son - the ancient Cham temple ruins.  Well, we now understand why people said they were glad to see My Son first....it's no Angkor Watt.  However, we enjoyed a nice 1.5km trek up a hill to the site, followed by a 15min folk performance, before looking at the ruins.  We had a guide who showed us various bits and pieces before leaving us to our own devices to check the rest!
At 12.20pm we left the ruins and went to a boat dock.  We then took a long boat to a carpentry village (Kim Bong) situated about 3km west of Hoi An.  The rain set in on the way and we believe this is associated with a monsoon which is centred around Danang.  We got only a little wet before John purchased some designer plastic ponchos (ok, maybe disposable and rather awful....but for 55c each what did we expect?) and we were out of the rain.
We were back at the jetty at Hoi An at 2.30pm.  As we walked back to our hotel, we stopped in to try on both of our tailored clothes.  All need a little fixing but are looking fabulous.  We're due back at 6ish to check progress....all are to be complete tonight.

Just before the hotel, we dropped into the Sinh Cafe and booked our onward journey.  We're taxiing back to Danang, catching a train to Hue (where we will stop for 24 hours) and then catching an overnight sleeper bus to Hanoi.  More adventures are in store!

Dinner now before we watch movies in the hotel.
