We arrived in HCMC and breezed through customs and departure (no luggage is great!).  We were 'offered' an exhorbitant taxi ride, but negotiated something better...$7 for a 45min trip to the hotel (watching 8 lanes of traffic become 1 is quite concerning or humerous....).

We arrived at the Spring Hotel - marble columns & lovely! We had a beer or 2 at The Shamrock Hotel (lovely irish pub).  We walked to the Majestic Hotel & enjoyed cocktails on their roof ("wow wow" & "bayside breeze") before having dinner at a french restuarant Augustin....not sure it was "french cuisine", more like American roadside diner (chef has left).  After crossing streets with lots of traffic we were home to do a shower laundry and we were asleep at about 8.30pm.
