We left The Honest Lawyer (and you can bet that we both bought t-shirts), before heading into Nelson for a quick bite.  Then, we hit the road to Christchurch.

First, we travelled back through Blenheim, before stopping in Kaiakoura (sp?!) for "crayfish".  However, despite being famous for crayfish, we had scallops and fish as there was no crayfish on offer!  The rain set in somewhat and the clouds kept growing.....but....as we moved south, we were again blessed with sunshine.

We arrived at Christchurch at about 4pm and checked into the Rydges (central and superb).  We then booked ourselves in for the dinner tram at 7.30pm.  We while away the hours by doing washing ($4 to wash and dry a load) and Accounting homework.......blah blah.....At 7.00pm, we headed to the Rydges' bar for a drink and enjoyed a Honey Beer Mule - warming thankfully.  We then found the tram stop and waited patiently in approx 8 degress for the tram!

The tram is actually a Melbourne tram that has had a colourful past in Melbourne and Sydney before becoming Christchurch's dinner tram in 2000.  Terrible way to spend the evening: 4 course meal, drinks by the glass to accompany the food, commentary and the sites of Christchuch by street light.  We discovered that there are many interesting, quaint and modern buildings which we will endeavour to explore more when we return to Christchurch next week.  Bed time!

Hooray!
Got it right this time. You don't know how great it has been for the both of us to hear about your travels. It makes us feel as though we are part of it. I had to register on the blog to use the comment section, so I don't know if you are able to access my blog - I have called it Mutchy. I shan't put anything on it as I am not sure if you will be able to access it. I am completely in the dark as far as this sort of thing goes. Anyhoosit you two lovelies, stay safe and look forward to your next instalment. Cheers and love to both XXOO Marya and Rob
