On our way to Slab Hut Creek we stopped off at Lake Rotoroa, very similar name to the lake on the north island, it was a rely foggy misty day and it gave a real mystical feel to the lake, the sand flies were horrendous so we didnt stay long!!!! We stayed for one night in a creek where people still go fossicking for Gold, and we met a guy from Austria who travells the world looking for Gold and he went fossicking, we had a really nice stay here but moved on the next morning!!
