We headed to the I SITE in New Plymouth and got the info Baz neaded to climb Mount Egmont, or the Maori name is Mount Taranaki, we camped at the base of the walk, in the nationalpark, the I SITE advisor said they do not promote people parking in the national park, but actually she said you are not doing anything wrong, if you are clean and tidy and quiet, but if we were asked to move on we would have to, so it is free parking, so we stayed tidy and quiet and went to sleep in the nationalpark.
