We stayed at the very last point of accomodation on the north point, at Waitiki Landings, and it was a funky place to stay, with a pet sheep, that the kids hungoff, and goats and chickens roaming around. So we then took the 23KM gravel drive to Cape Reinga, and the first thing we saw!!! a car in the ditch, and a tow truck trying to pull it out, and so we waited for the action to finish then started on our very slow drive!! but we got to Cape Reinga finally and walked to the lighthouse, and admired the views, and that was about it at Cape Reinga!!!! so we decided to head off into the car again and find the white sands, so we headed down towards spirits Bay, and we saw the white sands from the distance and they really are white!!! i thought it was snow to start with, until, Baz tried to get my head around the idea that we were off to see the white sands, i'm pointing at the snow!! "errrr low!!!! any chance that might be the white sands!!!!!" I do have my dumb moments!!!!!!!!!! But Baz still puts up with me!!!! And again, that was that so we headed back to the campsite!!!!! All in a days work!!!!
