Wow!!!!! What can i say, not alot actually as its midnight and been on beer and red wine all night!!!!!
First day in Bangkok yesterday, and decided to walk to a few sights, before we got to the end of the road, had a thai bloke telling us that it was a special promotional day from the thai goverment and you could get a tuk tuk all day for 40 bhat and it will take you to all the Buddhist Temples and entry is free, Cool we thought, in we jumped into a tuk tuk, the driver cirling the temples on our map that we had bought, corr these people are so friendly we thought!!! Got taken to the first temple, a gold buddha statue inside a temple, the blokey there had us on our knees praying to Buddha, up and down with our hands together and bowing to Buddha, supposed to give you luck, well even so, i got the fit of the giggles again!!!!! Baz kept nudging me to sat stop cause he was gonna start, but i couldn't, anyway, left there on to the next place, oh!!!! okay!!!! it's a silk shop, not what we thought, but we'll go in, the driver said just look, well, in India they sell sell sell and try to sell a bit more, but here they looked us up and down, said a few pleasantries, like where are you from??? and how long are you in Bangkok??? and then the sales guy, stood up and said thenkyou very much, goodbye!!!! Oh okay then, how not to be wanted, or even to had a sales pitch tried on you!!! Feeling a bit unloved, off we went in the tuk tuk again, to arrive at the travel agency???!!!?? Okay, again we thought we were going to temples??!!?? so we went in, we thought we ask about the route down to Phuket anyway, after having a megga hard sales act done on us, both a bit annoyed we walked out without booking anything!! when we got back in the tuk tuk, the driver says, "i take you to shopping" both me and Baz say, "errrr, no!!, temples" so then the driver explains to us that he gets free fuel vouchers on this goverment promotional day when we buy things from shops!!!!! so we told him tuff, got out paying him 40 Baht, and i gotta say it's the best thing we could have done, because then, armed with a map, we decided we were gonna walk back to our Hotel, across Bangkok, Okay, a bit stupidly, we didn't realise how big Bangkok was, but...............we stumbled across China Town, oh my god, it's HUGE!!!! we walked for four hours across China Town, walking around we ended up in the main market in China Town, (can't remember the name, too many Beers!!!) it was off this planet it was soooo ace!!!! i ate from every food stall eating chicken dumpling things, pork on sticks and they were soooo nice!!!! and those curley antlers from octopus or squid also on a stick, all soooo nice!!!! we also both have really bad colds at the moment so we went to a chinese herbalist and got some gingseng for our colds, we ended up on the main China town street and it occurred to us that Birmingham City were playing Liverpool, (Big deal, family team plays boyfriends team!!!!) so ended up getting a tuk tuk back to Koh sahn road, but it wasn't!!!!! we were so lost!!!! so showed the driver the map, and he asked another driver the way to our Hotel, and after getting to the main Koh san Road we found our Hotel.
Congratulations to Birmingham for drawing with Liverpool!!!! But what an ace first day!!!!!.
