Short and sweet entry, arrived in Dublin around noon and made it to the city centre fairly easily.  Unfortunately it was raining cats and dogs, but that's what it does here... part of the charm.  :-)

While we waited for our room (102) to be finished, Laura and I went out to do a bit of exploring around O'Connell Street.  We popped into a few shops but I wasn't really in the mood for real browsing... more of that to come.  Next we stopped off at the Tourism Office and booked a few trips... Ireland Through The Ages (Trim Castle, etc...) and Wicklow (Glendalough) both for me, only the second one for Laura... I'm going to do the first on my own tomorrow while she does an outlet mall shopping trip.  Our priorities are definitely different, and that's ok.  :-)  Tomorrow night we've got a ghost tour booked, and Monday night it's the famous musical pub crawl.  We won't be lacking things to do, that's for sure.

Right now we're just resting up a bit before heading out again later tonight.  I am going to check out as much of the SoGo Arts Festival as I can, since I won't be able to go tomorrow, and then we'll meet up later for food and/or drink.  It is Saturday in Dublin, afterall... it would be rude not to have a few.  :-)

So... this we ended up having a bite to eat at Beshoff Fish & Chips on O'Connell St and I have to say I liked the fish, but I wasn't overly fond of the chips.  Afterward, Laura went back to the hotel for a nap and I wandered down to Temple Bar (didn't quite make it to South Georges St) and had a walk around before heading back and having a nap of my own.  It's now mid-evening and we're as refreshed as we're going to be... time to do a bit more exploring and see what Dublin has to offer.  :-)

The night ended just like it started... with lots of walking.  After our nap we headed back to the south side of the Liffy and essentially wandered blind.  I took Laura to Temple Bar so she could see it's craziness (and even then, still relatively early in the evening, it was very tame).  After that we pretty much got lost wandering through the warren of streets that makes up that part of the city.  We were never really truly lost, but it wasn't until we got back to the room and looked at a map that we really saw the ground we'd covered.  It was small wonder that, at 11pm, we both fell asleep exhausted.
