It was lovely to NOT worry about how I was going to get home or at least get closer to home today. No soaking in the rain, no freezing fingers from holding a sign for an hour at a time, no hoping that my face was the right combination of "I'm not a crazy person and you should pick me up" and "I'm not a weak person and you better not try anything". Hoping, barely willing to acknowledge consciously, that I wouldn't end up hurt, abducted, taken advantage of, or even put in an awkward position with a weirdo - everything I've grown up with, no doubt everything my parents were worried about the last two days, and everything I had thought I'd unlearned. Clearly not.

I spent today in bed. Even leaving the warm space beneath my blankets for morning coffee was almost too much. And because I didn't do a dang thing today, it's music recommendation time.

Kinderzimmer Productions, from Ulm, Germany, is a hip hop group that I've gotten pretty into recently. They often sample jazz, funk, and classic hip hop; their vocals are fast, complex, and usually in German; and though I generally like their older stuff the most, everything is worth listening to. My favorite albums thus far are Im Auftrag ewiger Jugend und Glückseligkeit and Asphalt. Check 'em out!

Something I learned today: Probably good to always have a free day after hitchhiking.
