I took my first trip away this weekend to a place called Desert de Lompoul. We left on Saturday morning in a 4x4 and stopped off at a few villages on the way...amazing to see how the rural people live! Such a slow and peaceful way to exist!
Then we had a picnic on the beach and did some essential sunbathing while we waited for the tide to go down allowing us to drive along the seafront to our destination...took some time due to the flat tyre we managed to get! The spare tyre was also flat so the remainder of the drive was very slow!!! stopped off in the main village to get a new tyre and finally got to the campsite. we were lucky enough to get the luxury tents since noone else was there!
Enjoyed an amazing meal under all the stars before getting an early night! After breakfast the next day we went on a camel ride across the dunes which was very bumpy but such good fun and a great way to do it! Headed back to St. louis at lunchtime with luckily no flat tyres on the way!
Back to work now which is going really well...the talibes in my Daara are great fun and so eager to learn making it all the more worthwhile! Only 4 weeks to go so I will be really sad to leave them!
