I didn't anticipate that returning to Canada would be such a culture shock! In the time that I have been away everything has become so much bigger and faster. Especially bigger. I don't think that a typical Walmart or Canadian Tire store would even physically fit on the island of Bermuda!
After a few weeks though I adjusted and saw beyond the mayhem and traffic. (After all, Bermuda has also become much busier and developed during the past few years). It helped that my two best friends whom I stayed with both live on the outskirts of the city, one almost in the country outside of London and the other near the shores of Lake Huron, outside of Sarnia.
Canada is really a beautiful country and May was a wonderful month to be there. When I first arrived the buds were just opening on the trees and daffodil bulbs were beginning to sprout
I enjoyed all of the typical Canadian activities. Long drives in the countryside, dipping my toes in Lake Huron, watching kids play baseball, long runs in the woods and parks, BBQ hamburgers & cold beer on the deck and Tim Hortons coffee.
My best friends Sheila and Tracey were such wonderful hosts and did me a million favours. Thank you for everything!

. By the end of the month when I left all of the trees were in their full greenery and the weather was sunny and warm. Summer flowers were being planted in my friend's gardens and swimming pools were being prepped for a season of fun.I enjoyed all of the typical Canadian activities.
