! Oh my word, what a giggle. I've never seen anything like it – there she was, my sweet, retired aunt, on the Cirque du Soleil stage between a 7-foot tall cross-dresser and a scantily-clad man doing his best to engage her in some sort of theatrical seduction! But the details will remain in Vegas... Suffice it to say that she was a celebrity by the end of it; dozens of people were coming up to her and saying “Oh wow, you're Pollyanna; you were great!” Even as we we leaving in our taxi, a couple was pointing in the window and squealing, “Look, it's Pollyanna!” Hahaha... Oh my hat... What a night!!
And so... the birthday trek concludes. It was the most amazing experience and such a gift to share it with two wonderful women – my Mom and my Aunt. I'm tremendously grateful to them both and will treasure the memories always.
Thanks for reading. L xx
Vegas. What can a person say about this city. It's big, loud, glitzy... surreal. A staff member at a hotel even referred to it as “hell”. But others must revere it as a sort of hedonistic haven. For me, the highlight was that my wonderful friend, Sarah, was meeting us there! The four of us abandoned Milly for the lights and glam' of the big city and, among other things, took in a Cirque du Soleil show. Who puts on a better show than Cirque du Soleil, after all?! And their Vegas production – Zumanity – was known for its rather risqué appeal, so it was bound to be a night to remember. What we hadn't anticipated was that we must have been flagged as good targets for audience participation... Mid-way through the show Sarah was hauled up on stage with the sole task of role playing a seduction of a male member of the audience. Go girl!! As if I hadn't shed enough hysterical laughter tears, Auntie Pollyann was the next 'victim' – and they pulled her up for the finale of the show
