I left Selo after 1 night as there really was nothing to do except climb Merapi and as the one and only guide in the area wanted to charge me an extortionate amount, I decided that I would leave Selo for Solo, a city that I have been to before and for a change had decent food lol.  So I went to Solo and went on the splurge spending like 20 quid per day when I can happily live on 5-7 quid per day.  I managed to get a head/back/foot/hand massage, a wash and blow dry with a hair treatment for a fiver and wished that I could that price back home in the UK and ate at 3 quid restuarants, that would cost 20-30 quid back home as there were no locals there and the local food courts were packed.  After the weekend I went to Jakarta to sort out my visa for China and had to pay an extortionate amount to get the visa done in 2 days as opposed to 4 days as the embassy is closed on Friday and Monday meaning that I would not get my visa ontime.  Now what do I do once I get my visa, as Frida is not due into Jakarta for another 3 days and Jakarta is not exactly cheap.  Luckily, Frida informs me that she cannot make it into Jakarta for Friday, so that leaves me free to do whatever.

So I have to wait for my Chinese visa and hope that they grant it as they are a bit strict on granting it and its a hassle to get one, once they grant it, I want to head south to Borobudur or Dieng, with Dieng being preferable since the people are super friendly there, its cheap and Nita is there and also the scenerary is spectacular, but also Dieng right now is not very safe since the volcano is releasing deadly gases and people are currently being evacutated from the area, but everyday Nita calls me and assures me that shes's safe and well so I take it that the area is parts is not safe.  If not I had to the beautiful Borobudur to spend my final week in Indo.

Of course if my visa is denied then I have no choice but to stay in Jakartra a while longer to try to extend my Indo visa and then head off to Dieng again, Bromo, Ijen, Bali for th Gili islands and Nusa Tenggara and find a job or at last some voluntary work.

My time in Jakarta has been kind of nice as I bumped into Arman, the guy who pounced on me before I left the taxi when I came to Jakarta last time and then was no where to be found the next day.  He has taken me around Jakarta this time and I also met some of his friends and customers (who are Chinese) and whom he was struggling to communicate with and he asked me if I knew any Chinese since both parties do not understand each other at all, lol, of course Arman does not know that I am Chinese, since I told him that I'm Vietnamese since the Indonesians do not really like the Chinese much and both the Chinese and the Brits are considered wealthy, so I did not want to say that I'm a Brit either for fear of being severely overcharged, so Arman was shocked to see that I could communicate which his clients like a native speaker lol and his clients were kind enough to treat me to dinner and they themselves thought I was from Guangzhou or HK due to my native Cantonese accent.  Meanwhile, many of Arman's friends keep asking me out (as in a date) but I really don't like any of them, they all look a bit pervy or just pain like kids to me.

This morning I met 2 locals from Bandung, one called Max/Matt (not sure what his name is due to his pronoucation), who also asked m if he can come to Dieng with me since he's on holiday, whilst his friend works in Jakarta as a chef.  I made it clear, that he is to pay for himself and if he wants to share a room (which he wants to, to save money) he is to sleep on his own bed, which he agreed to.  However, I am now having serious doubts about him coming with me since he likes me, so its probably not a good idea and besides I want to spend a lot of time with Nita and the local in the surrounding villages, which I imagine he would find boring and at night I want to prepare for China and the English lessons and any interviews that I might have, so it doesn't really seem fair to me or him since he will be alone for most of the time, whilst I'll feel bad for neglecting him.
