WOW...Is all I can say, we have moved into the house in Beaver Creek. To say this is 5 stars would be an understatement. The bloody house is massive 7 bedrooms/8 bathrooms, a media room, gym, 4 steam rooms, 2 Jacuzzis, a hot tub and a flat screen and DVD player in every room imaginable. Oh did I forget the black BMW truck and Silver Dodge Durango in the garage...oh and did I forget the wine racks stocked with wine, 3 fridges filled with Stella and it is all part of the package!!!! Bernadette and Doug spent our first night with us. Doug and Spud made a dint in the alcohol especially the spirits while Bernadette and I played ladies in the spa. We also had the Superbowl final which was a fantastic game although it went for 4 hours which meant downing a lot of beers!
Scotty and Erica spent two nights with us here and Paula, Graham, Baxter & little Lani (3months old) came for dinner each nigh. Scotty cooked a massive Jambalaya and ruled supreme in the kitchen! They had a great powder day up at Beaver Creek and we finished each day with hot tubs and steam rooms of course. I drove the BMW to Silverthorne to buy Spud a birthday present which was a little scary as I had to go over Vail pass (12000ft) and it was snowing! But mission accomplished and my want for driving the BMW has passed.
Waitangi Day and our Wedding anniversary we were basically snowed in and house bound which isn't to bad when you have a house of this size and a lady who comes to stock up the fridge with food and alcohol each day! The snowfall was so big it even closed the I-70 which goes to Denver for nearly 2 days.
We celebrated Spuds 43rd birthday by taking the kids on a 6 mile snowshoe excursion, 3 mile of it all uphill (no skiing again as this time they closed the mountain due to high winds, first time in 16 years) then a massive birthday dinner complete with a snowboarder chocolate cake with Paula, Graham, Baxter and Lani. Bernadette and Doug were a no show due the road situation.
Our last day here come around very very quickly I must say. Grant, Doug, Graham, Baxter and the girls had a great ski day up Beaver Creek while Bernadette and I caught up on our Scrabble fix. We then had a legendary Sunday (on Saturday night) roast and proceeded to drink almost all the alcohol in the house! Goodbye Beaver Creek and dry out for the Murphy's for at least a couple of days.
