(I am now a week behind in getting this blog updated, but will try to quickly bring it up to date today, bit by bit!)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a blissful time in Amphawa, it was time to head off again.  We had originally planned on driving down to Phuket or Krabi, but had a change of plans since we ended up staying longer in northern area that we first planned.  So we decided to return the car to Bangkok, and hop a plane down to Krabi to make up some of the lost time.

I was feeling a bit nervous about driving into Bangkok, but fortunately we were able to skirt around the southern part of the city and up to the airport.  But what a massive city - with a huge network of motorways.  We tried to follow the map but it became a bit confusing, but fortunately we spotted the 'airport' signs very early on and just kind of blindly followed them.  We had to meet the car rental guy on the 3rd floor of Carpark Building 4 one Level 5 (or some such thing) as they didn't have an office.  Well, the new BKK airport is just like a city in itself, and we were quite proud when we finally pulled up in front of the guy, without ever getting lost once!

From Bangkok, it was just a short flight to Krabi.  We checked into a nice place in town, and went for a wander.  But aside from dinner and checking emails, we really didn't do too much.  This appears to be pretty much a transit / stopover town.

The next we wondered down to the pier and tried to hire a long boat to head over to Raileh Beach.  The problem with long boats is that they are quite expensive if you hire them on your own.  So they wait around until the get enough people on the boat to split the costs (anywhere from 7-10 people).  But they told us it won't take too long and to 'take it easy' (a favourite catch-phrase by the end of the day).

Well - 2 hours later, and with Debbie and I trying our best to help hustle up some tourists, we eventually took off with 5 of us (paying a bit extra to compensate).  Fortunately, we were on island time and not in much of a hurry (other than to get out of the hot sun!).
