As we had flights from Trat to Bangkok then a later flight to Bangkok,
we ended up with a couple of hours to kill in Bangkok. We took an
airport express bus to the Sky Train station, and took the Sky Train
back to a shopping centre so I could try to track down a batter charger
(still!). No luck - but we did go back for more steamed pork buns at a
Yum Char restaurant we discovered last time. This are the best BBQ
pork buns in the world!
As we were leaving the shopping centre, there were crowds of young
Thais dressed up in the outrageous costumes. And it looked like some
fancy dress/rock concert being sponsored by a radio station. We went
around taking loads of photos of these kids, and listed to the band for
awhile. It's quite funny listening to someone who was obviously a Thai
pop idol judging by the swooning girls - singing Thai pop songs. Very
cool!
After getting side-tracked with this concert, we made a mad dash back
to the airport to catch the flight to Cambodia. Traffic was building
up for Saturday night ... so I was a bit worried at first. But once we
got on the express, we were fine.
