1 July Inverness-Thurso, Scotland
with Jim and Sue
Met at Jim's and he drove to Luton Airport-not an easy drive at all!
Our flight took off on time and landed easily.
Gorgeous day with a very brief shower as we picked up the rental car.
Jim drove-gorgeous scenery-off mountains, land texture and clear skies.
Stopped at Dunrobin Caslte-very cozy castle right on the coast with amazing gardens.
After a couple of photo stops at picturesque points, we arrived at our hotel in Thurso. It's a lovely hotel in a fly-fishing area next to a river teeming with salmon.

Had dinner-white Burgundy, pan fried haddock with soy sauce and veggies-sweet potato and corriander soup (had cirnader husks in-odd texture). Went to the bar for our first taste o'whiskey.
S 1) Dalwhinney-  15 years old
J  2) Brora- 21 years old
L 3) Springbank- 10 years old
After dinner we had a discussion with a couple from Raey. Went for a wlk by the river after dinner-it's still light after 11 pm! Waterfall.

Eye-opening first day in the Highlands-very Scottish architecture, stunning coastline and great texture in the landscape.
