after i got to puerto montt i bought a ticket to the ferry going to chaiten, and spent the day in the city because the ferry was a 1 am the next day.

as i got on it i fell asleep and woke up at 8, and we arrived to chaiten at about 10.

chaiten is a small village in the middle of no where, and most of its people were evacuated about 6 months ago after the volcano next to it errupted and since then the ashes keep on covering the city.

since there arent many people living there it was hard to find a place to sleep. in on place the wanted 25000 pesos which is about 40$. and the lady there explained me they have 2 hours of electricity and just a little bit water. i almost paid it but then looked for somr other place, couldnt find one, so decided i will sleep outdoors. after a few hours in the town i went back to the port and there i found out that the waiting room is open, so i got a free hospedaje.

the next day i took another ferry to a village called hornopiren and today i took the bus to puerto montt, tonight i will go back to santiago.
