Today was a very busy and educative day. We went for an early morning run in our jumpers, beanies & gloves as it was only 2 degrees. We also got to see frost & frozen puddles for the first time.
We started off the morning at the Questacon Science & Technology Centre where we experimented with lots of different puzzles & displays. We went into a model house & experienced what an earthquake feels like. Mum & dad went down a slide with a verticle drop that we were both too scared to do.
After this we went to Parliament House and did a tour. We went into the main hall, the house of representatives room, the senate room, the members' hall and walked on the roof under the flag. We learnt about of the significant design features of the building and many of the materials it is constructed from.
Following this we went to the Australian War Memorial for a quick visit. We spent most of
our time looking through the WW1 area with all of the amazing diaromas of different battles & scenes. After this we had a quick look at the WW2 exhibit before going to the tomb of the unknown soldier and being part of a closing ceremony where the last post was played. Overall an excellent place to visit, however, the kids were tired by this time & we didn't get to see it all.
