Well we made it to Lima with absolutely no problems!!! Someone was there to pick us up and take us right to our hotel! And it turns out the hotel I booked us into is right in the heart of Miraflores (the nice part of Lima) and is surrounded by… yes you guessed it MARKETS!!!  Yayyyyy!!!  Shopping everywhere!  Although since I shopped in Bolivia I am finding it hard to buy anything anywhere else because it had been so cheap before!!!  We got in and walked around shopped and walked to the beach! Only we couldn't see the beach!!! Hahaha there was mist and fog everywhere!!! Hialrious!  Also we couldn't get down to the beach we would have had to take  a cab Lima is almost like it is on a cliff and the beach is wayyyy down there!  Since it was foggy we decided not to go down. The weather is very warm here though so even with no sun shorts were just fine.

I wanted to take mum out to try Ceviche, it is raw fish that is done in lemon juice. And it is amazing!  I HATE fish but it is not fishy it is meaty and tasty and wow so good!  So we found this amazing restaurant and had one of the best meals Ive ever had!  It was so much fun to sit talk and enjoy one of our last nights together.

The next day we got up and relaxed, then we found a spa I had a facial and mum went for reflexology.  After that we went for lunch.  Wow was that interesting!!!  We couldn’t figure out what we wanted to have to drink and when the lady suggested wine we looked at each other.. umm..aghhh.. yeah, yeah ok lets have wine!  But they took so long making out salads we sucked them back we had to have another!!!  While relaxing enjoying lunch the police came to talk to some guy in front of the restaurant (on a very busy street) the police left and a few minutes later we heard BAM WHAM THUNK, I look over and the guy has gotten out a crowbar and is beating the crap out of the other guys car!!!  He must have hit it over 30 times!!  Our jaws just dropped then since we had some wine we were in a fit of giggles!!!  We waited and waited for the owner of the car to come back but he never did.  We went  shopping and then I wanted to go to bed but mum decided to book us a tour instead!!!  And I am so happy she forced me to go!  It was of Limas water fountain park it was so cool!  And they had this massive show with water and lights it was so cool and different!
In South America at every intersection there is someone selling something or doing some kind of show for money. It is amazing!!!  If you’re thirsty you only need to roll down your window and ask for a coke or 7up!  If you’re hungry they are selling ice cream candies chocolate chips…  Some people are jugglers or break dancers.  After the lights tour we were in the van and I look out and say… is… is that… is that guy selling magnifying glasses!!  Mum starts laughing and yes yes he was he had about 10 magnifying glasses in his hands!  Next I saw a woman with a baby strapped to her back by nothing but  raggedy old blanky with 2 bottles of pop in her hand but when she bent down to the window of the car in front of us she gave him money and then was handed back a baggy!  She then smelt it ad but it in with her baby!  I started laughing like wha!!!  We just watched a drug deal!  Then I can not believe my eyes!!!  Mum!  No way!  NO!  Is that a robot!!!  There is someone in this terrific, amazing outstanding robot costume and not only did it look real but it had lights and sounds!  And if he robot walked up to your car and you didn’t give him money he shot you with a MASSIVE gun!  I was ripping through my purse trying to find some coin it was so good!!!!  It just goes to show that people really are resilient.  There are so many poor people in the world with amazing imaginations, with talent with drive and they are not sitting around at home on welfare (as they do not have welfare in most of these countries) no they are doing something with their lives whether it is selling pop, chips or magnifying glasses on the road at red lights, break dancing in the street or dressing up like a robot they are doing something for themselves. And what have we got at home, people feeling badly for themselves on welfare and squeegee kids with dirty water on the street.

I am getting so excited to come home and also a littler nervous!  I am so happy the weather sounds awesome at home so that will help!!!  My massive package that I sent home from Bolivia hasn’t come yet so I am getting a little nervous about that. But I guess there is nothing I can do about that right now anyways!!!  I will post some pics later of our tour of Lima!!!!
