Where I stayed

First job today was to pack up all my winter clothes and my new stein and ship everything home. My backpack is so much lighter now! After the post office I got a little lost, had a sushi snack and then found the river and made my way to the castle.
Along the way I stopped at St. Nicholas Church and some of the other sights. I spent a couple of hours checking out the Palace, Basilica and Golden Lane along with just wandering around within the castle. I can't imagine what it is like here in the summer, it is only May and already it was absolutely crowded.
After the castle I walked down to Charles Bridge and took my time strolling across it and checking out all the stalls. Well, I took my time until the thunder and rain started and then I picked up the pace a bit until I hit some stores to duck into.
I stayed close to the shops to borrow their roofs until the rain let up and then I set out to the Jewish area. First stop was the oldest still practicing Synagogue in Europe. Stopped to look at some of the other Synagogues in the area on the way to the Jewish cemetery.
Back at the hostel I met everyone (a group of about 8 of us) for dinner. We ended up at the same place me and Andy (the American) had gone to a couple nights ago. Had a few drinks and the standard pork and gravy type of food before heading to somewhere cheaper for a few more pints. Our cheap pick closed early, around 10ish, so we found another place (that had hot wings!!) before heading back to the hostel.
A lot of noise was coming from Laurens (another Canadian) room so we went to check it out. A Spanish group were having some beers so we joined them for a bit and had a good laugh at the movie/celebrity impressions that one of the guys was doing. Headed back to my room and chatted to some German guys in there before deciding it was time for some sleep.
