Lesson Learned
Entry 1 of 15 | show all | print this entry |
The journey started in Tegucigalpa (more on that in a previous travelogue). From Teguz to Managua we caught a series of chicken buses, to try and save money. Unfortunately, my encounter with a money-changer at the border upended those plans. Apparently charging a 75% commission on the exchange is appropriate if your customer is a hapless backpacker who forgot to check the rates before needing to change money at some whole in the wall border crossing in 100 degree, 95% humidity weather.
