Port Stephens
Entry 7 of 50 | show all | print this entry |
We left Sydney in a hurry. Leaving behind the hostel where we had enough of the "manana-manana" attitude - never thought i was going to write that. But anyways, we wanted to get out of Sydney and we were invited to a party. We left the 3rd of April and were hoping to go to the blue mountains for a quick campout, but as we dragged our car out of the huge city we realised that we had better go straight up the coast as the time was slipping between our hands. So up the highway we went, the Pacific highway aka no. 1. A shame though as Toby pointed out that they had not positioned it right on the coast but 5-25 km inland. The guy who sold us the car had told us about a place called Port Stephens, which we decided to visit as it was on the way. But we got lost for 2 hours, and i realised that i had wrecklessly thrown away my credit card! Long story short i was carrying it around in my cigarette pack, then at one point there was a minor explosion of shampoo in the front seat and everything was covered in goo. So i decided to rid myself of those worthlesss items. Including perhaps the most valueable thing we got downhere, my CREDIT CARD. To say the least i was not pleased and on the brink of depression ;-), but thanks to some swift actions of my mum - THX MUM - i got it back and from now on there is nothing coming between me and my precious. But on we went and found a great little spot in Port Stephens close to a place called soldiers point, which meant that Toby must have felt right at home ;-D. Next morning we woke to find out that two huge pelicans had surrounded the car but the swan-killer that I am i bravely ran away whilst screaming for help. Okay maybe the birds where in the water a couple of meters away but still somewhat scary.

Port Stephens "the Dolphin Bay" var det foerste sted vi overnattede udenfor Sydney. Smukt sted, men vi saa ingen af de lovede delfiner.
