It started raining during the night.  We all slept in.  I got up at 10:30!!  I couldn't believe it was so late.  Larry and Derek had only been up a few minutes.  So I made a big breakfast, 3 egg omelets, hashbrowns, and breakfast sausages.  Yum!  I don't make that kind of breakfast very often, in fact I don't know the last time I did.  We decided after breakfast to take a break day.

So, I started reading "Heart and Soul" by Maeve Binchy.  It was given to me by a friend because I was in Ireland this summer.  Larry and Derek were on the computer most of the morning reading and listening to the bizarre scenario playing out in Zanesville.  Larry found out about it when he checked the Dispatch online.  For those of you who didn't catch this news which became national news, 46 or more exotic animals were released by a man in Zanesville before he killed himself.  Only a wolf and a monkey remained at large the last time they checked.  They shot most of them and captured some of them.

We skipped lunch today because we were still full.  In the afternoon Larry and Derek played pool and listened to CDs, two of which were blues recorded by a former student of mine named Sean Carney.  Sean plays blues guitar.  We went to see him last Thursday when he played at Mudflats in Galena.  Derek and Sean were in the same class at DeSales and have several friends in common.  I continued to read, still in my jammies, in front of the fireplace.  What a great afternoon.

For supper I fixed creamed chicken on cornbread.  Larry and Derek did the dishes.  Then we watched the very intense movie, "Vera Drake."  It is a British movie and Imelda Staunton earned an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of woman in 1950s England who "helps young girls" who are in the family way.

After the movie I did this short blog and looked at my emails while Larry and Derek watch NOVA, Finding Life Beyond Earth.
