Where I stayed
We drove to the Snowqualmie Brewery for beer and lunch. Derek and I had Rueben sandwiches and Erin and Larry had bratwurst. While we were eating we decided to make it a brewery tour. So after lunch we headed to the Red Hook Brewery in Woodinville. When we got there we signed up for the 3:00 tour which only cost a dollar and you got a free sampler glass. We went to the bar to wait and Larry, Derek and Erin got a sampler, six kinds of beer about 4-5oz each. As the designated driver, I had a glass of water which was fine with me since I don’t really like beer. The tour was one of the best tours we have ever done. The young man who took us on the tour was hilarious. He took us to a big room where he gave each of us our glass and then filled it with beer. He told us the history of the brewery and then gave us another beer
Since we were north of Redmond we stopped at the REI in Redmond to do some shopping. Derek and I each got a pair of zip off hiking pants and Erin got a new pair of walking shoes. We drove down East Lake Sammamish Drive and there were a couple of surprising changes. At Inglewood Hill there was an enlarged interchange with a boulevard down the middle so that if you are going straight through you don’t have to stop. This is where we used to turn to go up to Mike and Erin’s house when they were married and it was always a big back up. At another interchange they made it into a traffic circle and it was much better too. We proceeded south on East Lake Sammamish into Issaquah which is where Erin lived before she bought her condo. Our destination was the Issaquah Brew House where they make Rogue. We had eaten here before when Erin lived there, so we thought it a good place to end our Brewery Tours. They ordered drinks and I got water. Larry got pulled-pork sliders, Derek and Erin got fish and chips and I got a chicken Caesar salad. Erin drove home as she didn’t like her Shakespeare stout and didn’t have much to drink.
When we got back we watched two more episodes of "Breaking Bad." Erin and I discussed a little about our trip to France next summer and I showed her where my cousin David lives in Altkirch in the Alsace region of France. We went to bed about 10:00.
