After dropping our bags into the hotel, and having a quick coffee, Stu & I set off for a walk with Mark & Kathleen.  We didn't really need anything, we just wanted a look around, but Kathleen had packed less that what she needed with the intention to shop, so we went in support of our lovely "sissa" Kathleen.

The weather was beautiful (well according to Stu & I, this is bliss!), it was a balmy 2.deg C, It was the bank holiday public holiday in Dublin, so all the locals were out in force which made for a manic shopping experience.  Of course we managed to spend.  We eventually had to stop, our poor flight ravaged swollen feet needed to rest, so there followed a 20 min walk back to our hotel (I'm sure it was only a 10 min. walk to the shops) and an hour of R&R in our rooms before we met up again for dinner.

Unfortunately, none of us had it in us to venture any further than the hotel restaurant, so we're still ignorant of what gastronomic delights Dublin has to offer, so the Terrace Bar & Grill it is.  We had a lovely dinner - I started what I beleive will become a 7 week habit of Soup of the Day, followed by salt cured salmon, which was just wonderful & Stu had what I estimate to be a 1.5kg hamburger, which he couldn't finish no matter how hard he tried.

We skipped dessert, because by this stage, we'd been hit with the "OMG, I have to sleep" stick and were at risk of falling asleep in our seats, so it was off for an early night.

We needed to sleep because we had more shopping to do the next day, which is also to be the start of our Trafalgar Irish Highlights Tour.  Off to the land on nod :)

Looks like you are having a ball - an irish ball, at that! How cold is it? Do they do lamb shanks brilliantly in the pubs like I dreamed? xxx to you all

Haven't tried the shanks yet, but have immersed myself in soup of the day culture. The most perfect place in the world to have soup every day, the weather certainly lends itself to it. I didn't today though. We went to Maccas while we were out touring and I regretted it fom the moment we walked in. God I hate McDonalds.
