Guest blogger Dave again.  I am trying to show Lil that blogging is fun!  So it is 4 AM here and I have been typing at the computer forever.  What's fun got to with it?

This morning we bid farewell to the BIT Center Fitness Center and Hotel in Ljubljana.  The BIT center houses one of three dedicated badminton facilities in the city of Ljubljana.  That is amazing given that Ljubljana is but a city of 300,000 inhabitants.  Unfortunately we did not have time to strut our stuff on the courts during our stay there, but we did witness how the Slovenes do their thing.

Next on the itineray was the resort town of Bled, gateway to the Julian Alps.  We arrived at Pension Pibernik around noon. Given that Lily stayed up all night reading Harry Potter, we were a little groggy to get out of the hotel room.  When we finally did, we headed for the Vintgar Gorge just 4 km outside of town.  We hiked along the river in a nicely shaded gorge.  Most of the trek was on a wooden boardwalk that hung precariously over the water.  The walk criss-crossed the river at several bridges that were perfect for pictures.  The preseverant hiker was awarded by a view of a waterfall, the Pod Slap.

We rushed back into town to take a rowboat to the island in the middle of the Bled Lake.  The old lady at the boat rental insisted that it would only take us ten minutes to row to the island.  Well, she did not know our ability to zig zag through the perfectly calm water.  It was good exercise though.  -DC

Lily here,  yup, Dave's showing me how fun it is that he is  using his jetlag to  use the internet at  5am. Then he has been making me search for internet cafes in all of our cities to do this travelogue. I think he's realizing  the time needed as we have been trying to upload 3 pictures for the last 2 hours.  I do enjoy this tagteaming though. Less work for me. Also more time to read. My big achievement: finally finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 3 days. What a page turner! Though i am a little slow at traveling right now.  but well worth it. Now I can join in on Harry Potter discussions. :)         &nbs p;         &nbs p;

Re: Row row row the boat......gently down the stre
excuse me, Lily here. for your information, i am a natural at rowing. :) just never had to do it before. i even maneuvered perfectly into the parking space. actually, i glided in without paddling since i was tired from rowing the 100 meters. no soreness the next day. i think carrying my backpack has trained me well. next stop: swimming across the adriatic sea.
