We can't get enough of puffins

Friends, I have been enjoying your comments . All of you now may be fledgling puffin lovers like me.  More factoids about puffins then (from the tour guide).  Some sources say they are cousins to penguins. They fly in a wobbly pattern, jumping off from a high cliff and using the air to their advantage. They flap their wings 8 times a second. They nest during from June to Aug (apparently Aug 23rd to be exact). They then fly off individually to some unknown place. They are monogamous throughout their lives, unless their partner dies in the winter.  The pair cares for their young (only one each year), feeding it sandills, and then leaves. The puffling is then to figure out how to fly himself, off the cliff and out to sea. To satisfy your thirst (or at least allantram's), I have included more puffin pictures. Notice I'm wearing my gloves when I threw the puffin. I learned because one cut my palm w his sharp claws. I still have the scar.  :)
