Just when you thought you'd left the west. Check this out.  
Downtown Addis Ababa has a starbucks knockoff called "Kaldi's Coffee"  
They are so close to the original, selling frappacinos, iced caramel machiattos, cake and cookies, all baristas dressed in bright green aprons, montages of coffee on the wall, even a circular green logo with KALDI'S COFFEE printed in the same starbucks font; starbucks actually had a law suit against them for a while, but recently dropped the charges.  
Ethiopia allows no foriegn commercial organizations, no international franchises to set up operations in the country. So Starbucks can't set up a store in Addis, and Kaldi's isn't spreading to other countries  





More stories are on the way. These last few days have been cool, but there is no time to write!
