I can't believe we did this, but we missed our flight out. So, we spent the night at the airport on the 8th waiting to see if we could get on the next flight out. We later discovered that Northwest Airlines had overbooked the flights all the way out to March. So, there was no chance we were getting on any of the flights before March 10th! We all had a mental breakdown when we thought we were going to have to stay another month in India. We were all so ready to go home.
We spent all day at the airport on the 9th trying to find a flight out and luckily, we were able to find a flight with Air India for Feb. 10th that would fly us into Los Angeles via Frankfurt, Germany. However, once we are in LA we will have to find another flight to Seattle. So, we aren't sure exactly when we will be back home. We spent the 9th at the airport as well since the flight was for 8:30 AM and we didn't want to miss the flight again. Two nights sleeping on plastic airport chairs with hundreds of people milling around because this airport is really busy at night. They seem to do most of the flying at night here and there were so many people flying out on different flights throughout the night that we had to take shifts on when we tried to sleep so that someone was watching the baggage at all times.
I am kicking myself over and over for missing the flight. We got our days mixed up and didn't even realize we had missed our flight until it was too late to do anything about it. That is one problem with being on vacation for so long. It is easy to loose track of what day it is.
