The last few days here have been hot and humid. We have been hanging out at the beach and I've been putting some work into my artbook. I discovered they have fruit bats here and I've seen them up close as they fly around the fruit trees around dusk. Their wings are so thin I can see the sun shine through them as it sets for the evening. They are so impressive!

We've made some good friends here at the Green Palace Hotel. Basil and Vamil and the rest of the gang have been very nice and helpful. We have enjoyed our stay here tremendously. I'm including some pictures of the boys at the hotel in my photo album for this entry.

Since we are almost done with our stay here, Toni and I decided to have henna tattoos on our hands one more time before we leave. Reji's Beauty Parlor does a really nice job with hennas. She can do arabic designs which are very beautiful and she cares enough about the quality that when she saw that the henna color was not a dark as she liked, she sent her mother out to buy new henna and she is going to do them over for us tonight. She is a very nice woman also. Almost everyone we have met here in Varkala are friendly and caring. Most are not pushy and the Tibetan shops have really good prices.

We leave very early tomorrow for the airport and back up to Mumbai for one more day before we fly home. We gave ourselves one more day in Mumbai to buy last minute gifts before we leave.
