Winter in Leavenworth

I've had this desire to go to India for a long time. I am drawn to India's ART: the colors, the designs, the sparkles, the music, the movement in their dance, even their accent. I love to watch bollywood movies since it's the closest I can get to experiencing India without being there.
My sister Toni has always had this desire to travel. So, we decided we should take a trip to India together with her 11 year old son, Kenny Lee. I'm looking forward to seeing India from Kenny Lee's perspective as well. I've been planning this trip for a while now. I like to plan things out and my sister likes to "leave it open." I think that combination can make for great travel companions. We bring balance to the trip. At least, that's what I want to believe. We'll see if it turns out to be true.:-) I haven't really traveled much with Toni, either.
I've put together an itinerary, knowing that we will probably alter it once we get there. The gist is to start in Mumbai, head north to Amedabad, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, Delhi and Agra. Then fly out of Delhi south to Trivandrum and work our way north to Chowara, Varkala, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kochi, Kumily, Goa, and back to Mumbai. I've read Lonely Planet's guide, watched Globetrekker's DVD on India, and read a lot of articles and travelogues on India. I have some apprehension about bed bugs and cockroaches. I know I have an aversion to cockroaches. A few bad experiences in Japan with huge cockroaches stuck in my hair have left me with a bit of a phobia. Also, I've seen numerous references to geysers in bathrooms in India and what a geyser is I am not sure. I am guessing something like a bidet, but maybe it is a shower? Now, one of my goals in this trip is to figure this out.;-)
I've already got most everything packed so I could determine what I was missing and make sure I could get everything in time for the trip. It's not easy to find some things here in Leavenworth so I've had to make some trips to Seattle and I've had to order some things online. I've decided to buy most of my clothes while in India so I could blend in better. It's cold and snowy/icy in Leavenworth and I've been getting in as much cross-country skiing as I can before the trip. I'm looking forward to hot sun on my face! I am itching to go now!
