This morning we took the water taxi back to Belize City. It was really hot and humid and carrying our packs around the town was not my idea of fun.;-) But, Fortunately, we didn't have to walk too far. We stopped at Dit's Restaurant for lunch. We were going to try a restaurant in the cruise ship shopping area but, we didn't see any restaurants there. It was only about four more blocks from Dit's to the bus terminal and they just started to load the bus when we got to the station. So we arrived just in time. It cost $14 BZ and 2 1/2 hours later we arrived in San Ignacio. This town is more like a base town for adventure tours. So, it';s not a pretty town. Since we needed time to schedule our tours, we decided to stay in town the first night. The two places where we wanted to stay were both full but, we found a hotel, Mallorca Hotel, that was clean and comfortable with good security and very helpful owners. Apparently, this town needs a lot of security at night. We scheduled a cave tour tomorrow to Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) with Mayawalk Tours
The hotel we are staying at tonight has satellite TV and I discovered an Indian Bollywood channel. They had a kind of American Idol show on except it was Bollywood Dancing instead of singing. Later when I was flipping channels again, they had on an Indian Soap Opera. So weird to be in Belize and watch Bollywood stuff.

. It's a 10 hr trip hiking through the jungle, crossing shallow rivers, swimming through cave pools and spelunking through a long 900 meter cave with hard hats and head lamps to explore the caves used for Mayan sacrifices. We are really looking forward to this trip. We worked out a deal with the tour guide to drop us off at this resort 6 miles out of town after the caving trip to a place called Clarrisa Falls Resort where we have reservations for tomorrow. We discovered that the telephone company is on strike right now and the phones don't work but, we ran into a fellow that knows the owners of the resort and he called using his cell phone (different phone system) and we were able to make the reservations at the resort. The hotel we are staying at tonight has satellite TV and I discovered an Indian Bollywood channel.
