Checking in at the airport was a breeze, until we sat down a the gate to waiting for our our flight and I happened to look at our seating assignment and realized Dave and I were sitting in different rows. So, I went up to the gate desk to ask the agent if she could see if we could get seats next to each other. She was having trouble finding Dave's seat assignment for our connecting flight from Phoenix to Tucson when she finally realized that while she was working on changing the seat assignments, they had canceled our connecting flight. Apparently, there was some mechanical problems with the planes and they canceled a number of flights. It took her almost 45 minutes to find another flight for us, but she did manage to find a flight with United (our tickets were with America West) to LA and then to Tucson, but we wouldn't arrive until 11:30 at night instead of 8:00 PM. So we took the flight and she managed to catch our luggage in time that it could be transfered to the new plane. Thank god we got there early. We had to check in all over again with United. We were waiting for the agents to show up at the gate so we could check in and Dave decided he had to go to the bathroom. So, of course as soon as he left they showed up. They wouldn't check us in until he got back because they had to check his ID. So, I had to step out of line and wait for him. We finally got checked in when he got back and then find a place to email Cline and Kirsten so they would know our flights changed. Once we got that completed $8 for 5 minutes, and we heard the announcement that they were calling for final boarding of our flight. Dave ran to the bathroom and I ran to let them know I was there and waiting for Dave. The agent said, "It seems that in the short time that I have known you two, you are always waiting for him."
"And he is always in the bathroom," I laughed. Soon afterwords she said, "Ah there he is, sauntering over." She waited a couple minutes and when it was clear to her that he was taking his time to get over to the gate, she paged him by name." That got his attention and he came running over in a panic. She had a good laugh when she saw him running. He was the last passenger and the whole plane was waiting for him.
