Although this was all very exciting, I could have done without the men walking in and out of my house to extend their sincerest apologies to my family for all of the wrongs they've committed during the month of Ramadan, knowingly or unknowingly, while I was walking back and forth from the bathroom in my towel
Something else that put a damper on the exciting holiday festivities was my looming ISP proposal that was due the next day before we left for Kedougou and our second village stay. Trying to find an Internet café open on one of the biggest holidays in Senegal is not the easiest thing to do. Note to self: learn not to procrastinate on everything you ever do (at least while in Africa where there are limited resources). In the end, I submitted my proposal about thirty seconds before sprinting to the bus to assure that I got a decent spot for our cross-country drive. All in all, Korite was an interesting learning experience and a fun day visiting friends to see them all dressed up in their traditional Senegalese garb. Don't worry, everyone, I'll be wearing my bou-bou at home for all to see!
